Frequently Asked Questions
What is Nutritional Therapy? Nutritional Therapy is the application of the science of nutrition in order to promote optimum health, peak performance and freedom from pain and disease. It is a complimentary therapy which addresses the underlying causes of health problems, not just the symptoms. |
Who can benefit from Nutritional Therapy? Anyone. You may want to feel energised and alive again, you may be struggling with the effects of stress, be over weight, be worried about symptoms such as acne, indigestion, constipation, diarrhoea or high cholesterol. You may have a diagnosed condition such as high blood pressure, IBS, type 2 diabetes, eczema or arthritis. If you are a sports enthusiast, you may want to give your performance that competitive edge. Good nutrition is fundamental to health and fitness. |
How long will it take me to get better? Some conditions resolve themselves in a few weeks, others take longer. It depends on what the problem is and how long it has been present. How quickly you respond will also depend on how committed you are to making the recommended changes. |
Will I have to take supplements? Not necessarily and not if you don't want to. However, many people have nutrient deficiencies and using supplements may speed up your recovery. Once your symptoms have diminished, you will be able to reduce your supplement intake to a maintenance level. |
Where do I buy supplements? These can be ordered for you and delivered to your door. Only the highest quality supplements are recommended by Nutritional Health Solutions. Some cheaper versions may not be absorbed very well so although they may look good value for money, this may not necessarily be the case. |
Will I have to take a lot of tests? Again no, but under some circumstances tests can help a great deal in deciding the best programme to help you get better. If you have any worries or concerns, let your Nutritional Therapist know. |
What if I am taking medicine prescribed by my GP? This is fine, but it is very important that you let your Nutritional Therapist know what you are taking and how much because some supplements and medications interact. Please do not stop taking any medications without your doctors consent. |
